yeah. i agree w/seforin. i know for at least the main locust dudes. they create 2 2048's....and then bump those down to 2 1024 for the ingame model. from epic gdc a while back.
Skin and hair are coming across as tinted monocromatic textures, are you perhaps directly blending a B&W AO with them? If so you may want to try changing the AO color to something more resembling / complementary to the underlying material before blending.
ya both the tool options window, and the attribute editor got a few quirks, i generally ignore the tools window, and just use the tool marking menus, control+shift+rmb, w+lmb, e+lmb, and r+lmb, but not all options are there.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. @atomander I think you're right. I'm working on adjustments and adding details. I think some decor/personal items on the shelves and desk will help w scale as well, so that's my next step.
dunno about maya or w/e but in max you could draw out the rope around the post with spines then create a straight piece of high poly rope and use path deform to move it to the shape of the spline. to make high poly rope try this
My intimidate impression is that this video is way too dark! If you are trying to highlight character movement, you want to be able to actually see it. This is a good example where they used simple backgrounds [ame] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WE35VWV16-w[/ame].
Your 2D looks nice! One thing I think you could improve though is your perspective. The only place I noticed you used perspective lines is the b&w dungeon in your first post. Rendering looks great! :)
good job man!! im really diggin the your submission and that skin!!! =O so bootiful haha and how did u like marmoset 2? i had trouble w/ the everything is shiny problem because of the reflection blinn-phong thing
Heyaaaa! More updates  I did the Zapp (Jinx's W), as a lava/pixel lamp. Since it's a Cyberpop thing, I decided to turn the lava into pixels so it fits more the actual skin theme. Gotta do more views soon!
Hi Neon...I tried a couple of different examples of instanced copying w/ a model (including only portions of it) I'm working on and have not run into that problem. I'm using Max 2015. You don't have part of it isolated/hidden do you?
