IMHO your camera angles on your weapons are too extreme. Much much better now, readability is great. The two yellow balls still throw me off a bit as they read as eyes of a hammerhead shark, but then the monster eyes are implied with those swirly eyes above her head, then her eyes are there two, so at this point I feel tempted to scan for 3 pairs of eyes. If you wanted to go down the realtime shader route, more recent versions of max ship with a texture driven directx glow shader called hammertime.fx (Edit - apologies butt_sahib, your first shader link is an improved version of hammertime.fx)
