In marmoset toolbag 1.0, ambient occlusion was based off of your model's size, so if the scale for your model was off (1 CM compared to 1 M for instance) the AO might look too heavy or too light. For PBR, I highly recommend having an occlusion map plugged into your material, also.
Yeah exactly, its hardly stealing a design so don't accuse someone of being a thief. The thread creator's katar is much simpler and has a yin yang whereas Agito's is based off a dragon. I don't think its fair to say that katar's are now off limits because Agito is working on one.
You could have a link to a separate page with the concept on it or the concept artist's portfolio, but I do think it is a good idea to have some sort of link at the least to the direct concept piece you based your work off of. Just make it clear who's work you are basing it off of, if it is a direct representation of the…
That's disappointing. Now that you mention it, he uses that black body colour temperature gradient in that Christmas lights example, and the explanation seems a bit off. But the videos have a nice selection of photos showing how light behaves (reflection etc.), and he teaches how to observe these. The "Gnomon Workshop"…

Thanks! I built a primitive skeleton based off a couple ortho drawings a found, then I mashed a bunch of shapes together in zbrush to get the basic mass there. Then sculpted the muscle forms based off some basic giraffe anatomy drawings I found and some detailed horse anatomy drawings I have.
And after making a few more tweaks, here is the final render! There are still a few things I could improve on but I've been working on this on and off for so long now that I feel it might be better just to move on at this point. I also made a few basic breakdowns to show off the topology on everyone a bit.
Vassago: haha, no the LoTR great Dwarven halls you're thinking of were based off of the illustrations based off the writings of Tolkien... somehow I doubt these were constructed, or if they were Tolkien ever got around to visiting them but these are super awesome photos. would love to take a tour if i ever make it to tokyo
improve work speed or concentration? i like keeping a checklist of tasks to take care and give myself a cut off time, so as not to spend too much time fiddling around with unimportant details take 10-15 minute breaks. gotta lose time to make time and, shut off the internet connection
As Kary said, use pages instead of posts, this way you don't have any of those "Posted in" & "comments off" announcements. You can also turn off that annoying snapshot popup in the settings. Then you can use thumbnails that are 100px wide and have 3 across no problem when using the html editor.
