but it's not a real next-gen FPS shooter! i mean look at all that brightness and color saturation! i mean it looks like the designers sat in a well lit room and worked on monitors with proper brightness, contrast, and color settings.
that looks awesome. seems like a great party game if it is indeed 4 player i really love seeing the 2d side scroller using 3d enviroments and characters. good to see it's not completely dead on 'next-gen' systems
sounds like a wicked location, congrats! here's hope that the grin barcelona studio works on something that does the usually colorful and distinct spanish art style(s) justice. leave the grey next gen shooters to the rainy north!
I'd say I'm pretty excited for this. The environments look fantastic. Those effects are pretty dazzling as well. So much color were seeing in new games! I'm glad were past the next-gen brown phase.
should be, I am currently developing levels using the unreal engine 2 tech and am seeking employment in the game industry. You really should start making some in UE3 too, UE2 is last gens tech...
You know, we've already got a cat thread, maybe this should be devoted to dogs or maybe even spinning quads. Or maybe a cat without a head and a spinning quad in it's place, with bloom, because bloom is effing next gen!
Next 360 lauches some time in 2013 more than likely, with later in the year a total possible time frame. A next gen looking COD as a launch title... Yeah, I can see that flopping, big time :p
Low res made. This is meant for a current gen 3rd person action/shooter. Statistics: Budget - 2500 Tris Current- 2513 Tris Mesh Verts - 1335 On Card - 1796 <-- Will change (Not UV'd yet) Anything obvious that needs improving?
If you go the low poly route, I would recommend modeling it straight and then have enough geometry to do a morph target or have some other rig to wrinkle the shirt. That's how it would be done for current gen game models.
look at any next Gen game coming out, now make your art better than that, and you will have what a junior artist needs for a portfolio. Seriously. Make sure to have breakdowns showing your wireframes and maps.
