I would move old stuff in an archive or mark it somehow as outdated, but not remove it. You never know why people come back for old info. Could be useful for academic research (e.g. previous work), could be useful for people working with old tech - i.e. we still have clients where we work with Max 9.0 or Maya 8.5.
Progg: Yeah I felt the Love section had some pretty mixed quality and could do with a cull, we're only as strong as our weakest piece and I've kept an awful lot of old pieces for sentimental reasons. This is part of my reason for considering having an external link to my old rors journal site. The old work could go there
I'm a little late to the party hopefully it hasn't turned into a feeding frenzy where everyone bags on the new kid, like the first page suggests... luv ya polycunts. This might seem insulting but, it fits, at least for me. Motivation & inspiration to artists, is the feather to Dumbo. At first, you really don't know how or…
Since i took down my old site, all my links in my old thread got broken. I figured might as well start a new thread for the new year. Anyway there were some old stuff there that I wouldn't keep in my portfolio now. Here's new concept sculpt to start things rolling. Robopopgirl. I'm considering taking this further, either a…
The clothing folds aren't really doing it for me - especially with the jeans. It looks like you're not taking into account the additional layers you're adding on - the folds continue uninterrupted right through the bands of the holster. Also, denim is a pretty thick material, and unless you're wearing stretchy tight jeans,…
Hello, polycount! I'm trying to learn some more rigging techniques and was wondering how to rig a person holding a two-handed weapon. I don't mean rig a person in general, but what kind of a setup to use on the hands for a nice-to-use and robust two-handed wielding. For rifles, I imagine IK on the arms to follow the gun…
I'm really impressed with this artstyle. The photo capture and treatment of textures is really good. Reminds me of the old Valve approach to things. He also released all of it under a permissive license: https://roadtovostok.itch.io/road-to-vostok-assets-vol1
There is a difference between a 3 year old rig, and buying parts that are 3 years old. :D 3 years is completely ridiculous. Like oxynary said, 1 year is understandable. But I usually buy parts that are 4-6 months old. GPUs however aren't THAT cheap. It depends what you buy. If you have a GTX 250, then yeah. But look at the…
This is Till, scares the living shit out of anyone walking by but he's the softest, most playful and mischievous dog in the world (good thing they don't know that, eh?) Most people say "WTF? A HORSE!?" or even worse, out of pure stupidity I suppose "That a RottWeiler or a Dobermann?". 3 months old: 1 year old: He's 2 1/2…
