How can you export model from modo? I try obj with UV ,but i cannot assign materials to color ID output (after baking it)...Do You assign materials then export? Can you help me in modo to quixel workflow with your plugin?
I'm just learning modo, but it looks like a very handy and efficient tool. Why people say it's so bad for game art? Except baking tools and export? You always can export to .obj, don't you? Ofcourse, if it's just a high poly and low poly meshes.
I'd recommend upping the contrast on the fur a little, not as dark as the first guy in your fur ref but enough to make the clumps distinct. And the details along the bottom of the skirt are looking a little low-res. Several images plus an obj with texture's should suffice for delivery, like a portfolio post.
Anything made with the student version can never be used for sale or profit. Even if you open it later with a full licence it will actually flag it up and remind you. I can only assume that even when saving as a .obj or .fbx etc it still leaves some kind of marker.
Hey @DanaosC, sorry it's been a bit, but 3 questions. A, can we see the mesh you're transferring vertex normals from? B, do you have a normal map on the hair? and C, are you exporting FBX or OBJ? If FBX do you have smoothing groups turned on?
With .obj you're never gonna be able to tell if it came from pirated software or not. Why? You can simply open the file with notepad and remove any information, and even if there was some hidden information you could just copy the text in to a new notepad window and save it out as an name.obj.
I will do it, do you need it UV Mapped and Textured as well? I can send you: 1 LWO/3DS/OBJ, 2 UV Maps (Pole and Fabric). I am assuming that your team can compile the model into SMD form and MDL Form themselves?
quick note, i dont 'think' that the demo version is of zbrush2, which is a HUGE difference, because zbrush 2 is where they added all the new highpoly features i believe, like really being able to work with high res models and export them back out as .obj
Downloaded your obj and test bake in 3ds max, all looks fine to here and no pixel seam. There is no gap on UV either. But just your bricks mesh arrangement, (from your image above) the bottom row, second from the left, it doesn't tile properly to the top-bottom.
