I havent seen any books which actually deal with the next gen character and environment workflow of high poly to lowpoly and baking maps that seems so common these last few years. Ive looked in bookshops and on the net. Its a shame really, maybe its a big gap in the market for some lucky polycount author to fill.
[ QUOTE ] looks good so far... for texture advice, maybe add some yellowing to the upper parts and sky-facing surfaces? A specular map would also do wonders for this model [/ QUOTE ] i have a specular map, but i can never get them to show off properly, and its driving me nuts.
Hey guy's, good to hear that it sounds like I am in the minority to this happening ( which makes me breath a little easier to our industry ) I think I will live by what Asmuel stated: [ QUOTE ] Don't put your nuts on the train track for people you dont consider real friends. [/ QUOTE ] Spark
plus, take into consideration the age group the game is for. usually younger people, not 35 year old net geeks who download torrents and stuff. the average sims player wouldnt know how to turn off user account controls in windows vista let alone find a safe version of a leaked game and get it to run properly.
Looks cool, only thing for me is the laser sight looks really dinky. maybe one of these soloutions? Laser Sight nSight x2 (alone) nSight x2 (on Px4) or at least try scaling it up a little, it just looks small. You mentioned the guns not exact detail so any nit picks there-meh, so ++ for the gun
irritant is right the best way to lose weight is to excercise, eat right and lose the weight over time. but so far my will power has held i guess, around the office i no longer snack on things like Dutch Chocolate or Chocomel(chocolate crack) now im snacking on strawberries, kiwi, grapes and nuts.
not to some people, who might have other things to do than sift through the flotsam of the net these were very entertaining and well considered archetypes... funny to think about which ones you fit into. i know for a fact that i've played the part of the admin/nanny and maybe even a little jekyl and hide occasionally.
heh, i didn't read this before i took screenshots >_< (my "work" pc doesn't have the net). but basically i got sick of the sight of the high res model after a while, and started to rebuild the low res, and start optimising it etc. i know there's a ton in the hands that can go, i'll do that later.
listen to what they tell you about the unwrap. It's definetly very important for getting hired. still i just wanted to give you a headsup. I think you are improving very fast and doing good progress. Just try to get really down to the nuts and bolts of unwrapping and a little bit better lowpoly modelling.
well depending on the build, you should be kept up to date, so you can't blame the it guys. if we ever had an unstable build we would be told about it and revert to the previous stable build. I would n't say unreal was any worse in that regard that with any other engines i have worked with
