Man, 300 tris isn't enough for the extruded metal plates. Oh well, flatness with shaders doesn't look too flat from far away luckily. LOD 0 is done and still refining the textures a bit, I want to add some sort of decal on the rocket but have no clue what to paint on... Suggestions? -

What ParoXum said, but keep this to low values like 0.3 otherwise your terrain will be very noisy and you will tell the tilling. Glad we could help. Tip: Remember a level doesn't only use terrain, it's a combination of various terrain layers, brushes like rocks or vegetation, decals, etc that bring it to life. -

Looks good but, do you plan on doing some texture variations; With road grime, rubber shreds stuck around the wheel wells, worn tires, dings and dents here and there? Don't forget the decals and stickers for more HP! :) I've done a lot of back country dirt road drifting in the past, it's a major rush! -

I can't image car games being too restrictive on the amount of draw calls per vehicle, at most you have 16-32 cars racing at a time. Car paint, glass, headlights, chrome, decals, plastic, license plate, plastic, carbon fiber, interior, etc, are probably all their own materials. -

Sexy lookin' textures! Thank you! I wonder why anybody haven't put up a nice clean texture site strictly for game textures. Concentrating in tileable textures, alpha masked textures, hand painted textures, decals, skyboxes, zbrush/photoshop brushes etc. At least i don't know any. -

Dirty ae, i need to get crackin on some stuff as well... inspiration! I agree with se7ered though. The paint right now is sticking out to much (not physically sticking out) but it seems like its not blending in the way it should, is it a decal? Maybe try mess around with the blending in unreal, additive or something.… -

lol yea, UE3 crashes so goddamn much. I've been making some MP levels for a game and it drives me insane. One day, it crashed every 10 minutes until I deleted all the decals from the level. Overall I like UE3, just wish it was a tad more stable.
