Technical Talk seems more germane for this https://polycount.com/categories/technical-talk 1) Check your edge normals there. Hard normal edges that aren't separated there for the UV seam will increase the likelihood of a visible seam. 2) Your bake cage is bad.
eh, doesnt look all that similar. i mean, yea they have that whole triangle thing going on. but thats pretty much it. unless i dont know exactly which logo youre talking about. (im talking about the ones on their presentations)
thanks guys ill talk to my leads and see if i made a mistake anywhere, because in the options menu tangent was already selected :S so either i heard wrong or they gave me the wrong info ill talk to my leads.
[ QUOTE ] wait a minute....are you talking about this: http://img254.imageshack.us/my.php?image=aksjfhdaskljfhd7xe.jpg [/ QUOTE ] Yea, that's what I was talking about. I was just asking for a co-worker. Left clicking on the palette box doesn't bother me that much.
I didn't say much as most of the talk was about games that I hadn't played. After the podcast though, I wouldn't shut up. We were talking about general issues with the industry and creativity vs work for hire type work.
No dramas Ben, we're in the technical talk forums after all ;) Thanks for the links...if I'm feeling brave I might tinker with the code, it's always interesting seeing what's talking to what and experimenting with code haha. Yep, I've got notepad++, cheers.
If you are talking about the scene mesh, "rebuild normals" should fix that issue (menu bar > modify > rebuild normals). If you are talking about the reference mesh instead, I'm afraid that the only way is to go back in your 3D modeling package...
This reminds me of a ted talk. http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/kevin_kelly_on_the_next_5_000_days_of_the_web.html I thought this was interesting. And I think it answers the question directly. GREAAAAT now im addicted to ted again, its worse than youtube vids of cute animals.
Yes. Talk to rendering SEs. I guess I should clarify that I'm talking about multi-platform games here, but I should think that's obvious since comparing two platforms with two different platform-exclusive titles is fairly meaningless.
I gave a short talk last week to the Academy Software Foundation's USD working group last week about "USD and MaterialX at Wayfair", might be interesting to people here. Video available here along with a few other neat talks: https://wiki.aswf.io/display/WGUSD/Presentations
