Some updates. Trying to get the sword wrapped up tonight or tomorrow, feeling pretty good overall though for my first real hand painted prop. Also thanks for the feedback and comments so far!
Big thanks, man! I'll re-consider the body shape and see if I wanna go more pear-style or not. Will probably exagerate it more! Great catch with the hand grabbing the sword, will fix that. Thanks again! =)
Armor detracts. Lose the armor. Link survives on distinct silhouette and color scheme, and the armor would just make him look like fantasy solder #415 instead of the young elf man with a sword and board.
Done with retopologizing and unwrapping Einar! The entire character is on one uv. Only the sword/weapon still needs to be unwrapped and will have a different uv. @Infandum Thank you! Changed the shoes a bit in the low poly version.
Had to go out of town for a few days but got back last night and worked a (very) little bit on the texture maps. Hoping to finish this in a few days and move on to a cool sword concept I found
Made a few new assets, a banner with two texture variations, a sword (wip textures), a new tent (also wip textures) and an axe.. Also added normals to most of the textures to give them more depth.
That's looking awesome! You've got some funkyness going on at the tip of his sword though. Sucks to hear you're sick, hope they'll be able to patch you up after the x-ray results come in.
Nice work man, yeah give this man some legs! I'm curious, for this dude why does he have three swords? He doesn't have three hands! Maybe one could be a dagger?
i think the one main thing the blizz artist did that im not seeing in yours is the cast light from the glow in the texture of the sword. especially on the hilt you can see a lot of nice cast light on it.
oh right! thanks fer the reminder shotgun  here's a todo list for my own sake: - scar tissue - soles under feet - holster for the sword - more veins - random details on the back of the legs
