Re: Ultra wide monitors, worth it?
These monitors are only goog for gaming imho. Btw, i bought an asus 27" AH-ips blah blah blah for more than 350 and i returned it due to several issues like light bleeding on the corners. I ended with a 24" benq VA monitor and has better image quality/constrast/blacks than the ips for just 150!. I can't stand the glow… -

Cost of living is also a very important factor that really effects how you view salaries. You may barely be able to live on 45k in one city, but in another you can afford to buy a house with a new theater system on 35k -

I only have experience with LaCie calibrators which run about $350, maybe Spider calibrators are just cheap? -

Not too sure in Euros, but as a lead enviro artist, in pounds sterling you should get between 35k-50k (42k-60k Euros?) a year depending on the studio and your experience I guess. Smaller studios and indies will probably pay less, larger studios more. Your pay may go higher if you've had some impressive experience on high… -

So 1 week for the modeling? hm.. The impression I'm getting is that just the modeling phase takes max 1 week, so a working week at 9-5 minus 1hr for lunch is 35hrs... hm, of course every character is different but its an idea... Thanks guys! -

Yeah I know. I just really can't afford to not get this. I emailed them saying £18/hr for as many days a month as they can afford. Polycount wiki says £21/hr is lower end that people questioned charged, so I think £18 is fair considering my lack of experience and our positions. This works out at £35K a year full time,…
