These monitors are only goog for gaming imho. Btw, i bought an asus 27" AH-ips blah blah blah for more than 350 and i returned it due to several issues like light bleeding on the corners. I ended with a 24" benq VA monitor and has better image quality/constrast/blacks than the ips for just 150!. I can't stand the glow…
Cost of living is also a very important factor that really effects how you view salaries. You may barely be able to live on 45k in one city, but in another you can afford to buy a house with a new theater system on 35k

Not too sure in Euros, but as a lead enviro artist, in pounds sterling you should get between 35k-50k (42k-60k Euros?) a year depending on the studio and your experience I guess.
