yes but its just point data, so unless you write a script that does something with it so that it has volume in terms of faces it will be useless. Like adding spheres to each point, merge it into a mesh and then use a retopo script to rebuild the mesh into a clean 3d mesh.
ahh i see lol silly me, mustve read too fast where you said itll help to know some scripting and i then clicked on the link assuming you had created the ghostown script, i got confused lol but thanks for the link!
thanks render - that site looks like it has a ton of scripts I just spent a few moments looking at the "most downloaded" scripts i couldnt find anything that was similar to chuggnuts for example in max... I guess maya is a bit of a UV void. thanks tho.
Ninja Pipe now available on Creative Crash. This is a free script to help making Pipes. This is also included in Ninja Dojo under the bonus tools. I will try to get a video up soon. http://www.creativecrash.com/maya/script/ninja-pipe for more info on Ninja Dojo check out the website here:…
Another handy script for work. Can multi-rename layers and more. I had a situation where I need to rename many layers. 3Dmax can't do it. Only this script can do it. https://github.com/cb109/interactive-universal-renamer
@YannickStoot Yea, definitely heard of that one. May have to get my hands on something that'll work for me and try some of these tools out. @C86G Sounds Interesting, any chance that script is sharable? ;) Been looking into scripted alternatives, but no luck yet.
I hate that change too, I used to love to select faces and boom got a new piece to work with. Surprised no one made a script/hack if its possible to make a script of the shift+click option, I miss It damn you Autodesk.
you can check out Ninja Topo. It's a script ive started to help in re-topology. http://www.creativecrash.com/maya/downloads/scripts-plugins/modeling/c/ninja-topo [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drQsYROMgrU"]Ninja_topo - YouTube[/ame]
Heh, I didnt find a way, but I helped Miauu create the Easy Peel, part of these scripts: http://miauumaxscript.blogspot.bg/p/miauus-script-pack-vol2.html . Basically It does what i've described in the previous comment. This should work imho:
ya I will see what I can do with the script, and making it respect hard edges. Just need to make the script figure out which face a vertex normal belongs too. will do that when I get home later tonight.
