I'm familar with Blompkamp's work, specifically the car commercial where the car transforms into a transform-style robot that dances. This is an interesting development, I'm really interested in seeing what he does with it. I really like Blompkamp's pieces, except for I hope he doesn't use as much of the "shakey cameraman"… -

I like the shapes on the little robot guy. Obviously a super early model made out of primitives but it shows some real promise. Oh, and by the way, all you jaggoffs who post "this is my first model ever" and it's got normal maps and a sensible tri count, you're not fooling anybody. Kudos to this guy for posting something… -

I'm still no fan of the over-the-top detail on the transformers redesigns, but I dig the type of combat the 'trailer' seems to be selling. I know its highly likely that it has nothing to do with the real game play, but the fighting in the trailer makes me think that the game would almost be like those old… -

No, you still have to have those rounded edge loops. The reason is that no matter what the character does, the anatomy is still that of rings of muscle surrounding the mouth. If your character just had a slit mout with no edges, it would look unnatural, mechanical, and like the critter / character's skin was just a mask… -

It seem that this like starwars and LOTR all suffer in the later installments from not giving the characters any character, the little funny quirks like strange sweets and mad robots get left out and they spend too much time just following the plot instead of making a fun atmosphere.
