How often are you deleting the History on your mesh? (Edit > Delete By type > History) I find the larger my History gets, the less stable Maya becomes, so I like to delete the History and freeze unnecessary transforms fairly often.
hah! I'm actually saving some money to have someone else code up my website. I did a prototype site in html 5 that transforms from portfolio to resume by clicking a button, but I had to put that aside for Dinosaur. :p
surface pro has gotten some pretty nice reviews for its drawing interface, has a high resolution screen for its size. The asus transformer book also seems pretty decent, longer battery, smaller HD and lower res screen.
Could you tell me a little more about smoothing groups? I wasn't aware they influenced how maps bake. Haven't used the transform component tool before, does it work similarly or is it simply just pushing and pulling verts around?
there was athing in the mirror newspaper about it, they said it was 3 different dancers doing the moves and it was mocapped into a PC and kelly animated onto the mocap. it looks really fake in places and you can tell it's CGI, not like the breakdancing transformer citreon which looks real.
I like the specs of the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity better, but wondering opinions by others. IPad has the highest display resolution but far as I know pressure level is still at...what 512? http://youtu.be/yhp9it10YHc
after three years i still don't understand how the hell zbrush scaling works but the thing is it's always going to be a factor of 10, so if this does happen you only need to set your scale by a factor of 10, freeze transform and reexport
Not really. Max's system allows for a dynamic origin. Eg. You click/drag on a vert and that becomes the origin for transform/snapping purposes. Maya can't do it dynamically so moving shit around is a lot less fluid and it makes max users sad.
I believe Josh Nizzi was hired originally to work Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen because someone saw his awesome Long Haul concept art on CGSociety, so I think that fan art, if it's done extremely well, can be a good thing.
I've seen this happen before, but I don't remember which version of Maya it happened in. Try making another modification to your mesh after setting your UVs. Something like Transform Component but not moving the component at all, then delete your history.
