thanks for the feedback guys! @xXm0RpH3usXx- I used both; regular boolean actualy did the job but made realy ugly geometry and triangled the crap out of it, So I didnt go with that. I also prefer the colouring in the last image as it looks tidier than the airbrushy approach from your first post .. I agree it might be worth adding some more contrast and stronger colours.
