To my knowledge there is only one tutorial for XSI on how to get your character wieghted to the rig that comes with hl2. [edit] Just found it. Pretty good tutorial for XSI by Dominic Laflamme.
Well in case you change your mind about sticking to milkshape, here's a bunch of video tutorials on Blender to get you started. edit: Here's some written tutorials too
This is a tutorial that shows the new mudbox feature and covers maya side workflow. The same applies for 3dsmax and softimage i assume ofc without the maya part :) You most probably need to be an area member to watch this. http://area.autodesk.com/tutorials/maya_2011_rig_to_mudbox_2011_joints
I made a dragon sculpt and I am now trying to make a retopo of it, intended for animation down the line. However while I made a lot of sculpts and still models, I do not have a lot of experience with medium poly character models. I of course watched a lot of tutorials, but I have a lot of questions and desire for feedback…
@Nuclear angel: I've been coding before in unity before. So I recomend just diving in to the beginner tutorial and checking up their collection, but I used this tutorial to make Last Invader. :)
@TheLazyScarecrow Thanks!! I used ZBrush for sculpting! The materials were made inside Substance Designer, and the moss was created using this tutorial; http://polycount.com/discussion/130038/ryse-moss-tutorial/p1
I personally would do everything possible to avoid this. It is likely that your employer will recognise the piece from a tutorial and that may reflect badly on your ability to create good work without a tutorial.
Cheers, Vig - I'll try that. It's good to know that the 3DTotal tutorial author touches on two different topics, vertex blending and masking, in the same tutorial without stating it - at least I know now.
You have to do some tutorials showing your Photoshop workflow for your 2D work. I will PAY you for tutorials of your 2D workflow. My God, that stuff is savagely awesome.
