Hi @marwan568 I'd recommend to shoot top down pictures, that's what work best with such surfaces. Make sure each picture overlap with the previous one by at the very least 50%. The tricky part is going to be the tiling. As for the snow/puddles, I just played a bit with the pbr maps once the texture was done.
a guy hid 50 or so post-it notes with penises drawn on them after leaving Ironlore. he later IM'd me to look under my desk where i found one. Parnell once paid an old creepy dude to hit on me in a bar... wait... no, that wasn't a prank. MAYNARD!!!
[ QUOTE ] we reduce them to at least 50% and I think in the demo that was shown publicly is actually at 25%. [/ QUOTE ] wait, by this do you mean that the texture sizes will be higher in the actual game or the shots so far have been using higher than it will be? the way you stated the %'s got confusing
about 8 months ago v now. Left one took longer lol, they were supposed to be speed sculpts about 30-50 mins each i think. Keep thinking how bad i am now but it's really nice seeing the progress :D
We just hit the $100k mark, and are inching towards 50%. It has slowed down a bit over the last week or so, so any and all sharing you guys can do is absolutely appreciated. And thanks, Oniram! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nerdkingdom/tug-1
Whoa. I thought the character on the ship was a stand-in, but that's actually going to be the character? If so, you have some huuuge difference in polygon density. He's about 50 pixels tall in the shots, but he's got about 3000 triangles? That's quite unneccesary. 500 should be plenty at such a scale.
Alright, thanks a lot for the replies! Basically I am a total noob as it turns out. I just created a box 96uu tall, then scaled my scene down so my character was now the size of the box (roughly 50% of the original size), and now the scale is perfect :)
Missing LED screens sucks but oh well. Multitouch is cool. Going for corded-only version and it's $50 cheaper at $300? Yes please! :) I love the I4's textured surface, over the I3's. I'll more than likely be picking one of these suckers up.
If you'd like, feel free to checkout my deviantart account for some older stuff. Always enjoyable to see one's progress. http://veritasx5.deviantart.com/ This is a 50 minute sketch I did a few month ago, after I started to apply the teachings of Feng Zhu.
I can kind of understand doubling the ram half way through the console cycle to save $50 a console at the start or whatever, only if they do it in a similar way to the n64. A lot of the new tech I'm seeing looks really ram heavy, like 3d textures and MegaTexture.
