Its strange, I'm used to maya automatically connecting the transparency when using targas w/ an alpha channel. I dont think its happening in this case. Also, high quality render doesn't seem to effect it. -

Transform is "w" silly billy! okay, it's not "x"? well then! Reset Xform? Centered Pivot? 0,0,0? Reopen the Scene? Restart teh Max? Export, Import typically tends to fix weird shit like this. good luck. -

I've used a Nostromo N52 in conjuntion w/ a mouse before and it's a cool but slightly bulky setup. This sounds like a really cool idea for a mouse, but utterly fails IMHO if the buttons are not eventually user programmable through macros. -

The Art of Happiness. The Art of Deception w/ Kevin Mitnick. Really interesting read on how easy people can be manipulated to provide valuable data. I enjoy Tom Clancy books. I have a few on mp3. -
z brush x ray mode?
I know max has one, z brush has a ghosting mode which makes everything other than the mesh you are working on transparent which is not helpfull, especialy w/ orthographs. Either that Or ive got a wrong setting somewhere.
