Awesome. Always good to see some Unity WIPs. If you know what your doing you can get pretty close. I think the only area where Unity is reallly behind is with materials. (That, and the fact there is no directional lightmaps, so baking lighting kills your per pixel shaders. Although thats no longer gonna be an issue in 3.5) -

hey Uberren , I have one question about your work. Why do you repeat your texture like that ( on your texture sheet ) because is absolutely not optimized but maybe you have a reason ? Because I saw you put light information on your texture but normally you have the lightmapping for that. btw great texturing job :) -

Quick update! I've done some more blockout props, fixed a couple of lightmap/material issues and textured the tables and the menu board. I'm looking into ways to blockade some of the store fronts and scale down the workload here, but it's finally starting to get somewhere after all this stagnation: As always, critique… -
Re: Too many texture interpolators (when there aren't too many interpolators)?
I'm pretty sure this is caused by the interpolation from vertex to fragment and therefore it's your Input struct you should be looking at. Try sharing uvs for diffuse and normal textures and remove world normal/position if possible. You could also try disabling lightmaps using the "nolightmap" param for your surface… -

Here's another panorama shot, now with some more alpha graffiti :) i've also put in some oil drums and papers but until i can be bothered to re-build the lighting, i wont post those up yet. Still problems to sort out, most noted here is the pipes on the cieling, seems to be either normals or lightmap issues. -

In most of my light attempts I have had the light directly facing the complex, I will try some different side angles or from high above and see if that improves the scene. The rocks lightmaps are fine so probably its the angle of the sun just not casting enough nice shadows on them, making them look really flat. -

yep, maya, lightwave, modo come to mind. modelling, eh? say hi to modo. btw. i think the iMac G5 is an old hat, the intel powered one seems to be their new model. but you are lucky, hardly anything runs on that intel mac at the moment without some form of emulation that apparently drops performance down to G4 levels. -

You know, no one here does attachments like you do. You're like the Hard Boiled of game art when it comes to attachments. It's really entertaining to watch but it also makes me consider how often I rule out attachments in my own work for the sake of clean lines and good lightmaps, so it's inspiration too. -

Update on progress so far. Still have to optimize my lightmaps and placement of dirt and rust...they look a bit strange to me. Might also have to swap out some textures and optimize. Also don't know why I get that horizontal seam at the bottom of my screenshots. Also don't understand why my girder is reflecting light in… -

I had the exact same issue the past few days. There seemed to have been a problem with the UDK trying to lightmap onto one of my static meshes that had an emissive map applied to one of the UVs. It doesn't sound like your scene had any emissives in it because you said it's just 3 bsps, but this seems to have solved the…
