Re: 3ds max - can't use Move/Rotation/Scale during Unwrapping.
It's 3ds max 2017. I was able to select edges on the model. Not only inside editor. I had also arrows on the object when I chose edge. It doesn't even show me now which edge is selected. Should be red - same as in UVW map editor. I edited half of the model in that way already so I am sure that there was option like that.… -

update, yay! redid the model, and i also got inspired by duncan frasers model. i do have to work in the joints, so i can move it around. i'm currently at 1012 tris, will figur out where to do some work. here is the current uv layout: i dont yet have textures, but i'll try to stick somewhat similar to the design of the game… -

its not clear to me what the problem is from the pictures, however if this is a game model i'd question the use of corrective blendshapes in the first place because I don't think you will easily be able to transfer it to your game engine. But more importantly, for bending of the elbow you should be able to accomplish it… -

You can try deleting the Maya preferences. I sometimes have to do this at school when the tools start acting oddly. Path can look something like this, C:\Users\User\Documents\maya\2017. I usually have my prefs folder backed up since I have customized my settings. I just copy them back and see how it goes. -
