I understand the size difference, I just see everyone talking about authoring their textures at 4096. I had a feeling it was crazy overkill :P well, current gen here I go
Hey! Good Start, but i would make the parts which are nearer to the player more rounded. I mean the main scope and the handle lever. Next Gen offers you much more Polys ^^
PBR is basically the new Next Gen. My two cents: if someone was asking for a "PBR Look", I feel they're thinking more about the nice lighting than the nitty gritty of maps and materials.
@tekmatic, if you want a good texturing video buy the Eat3D video "Next Gen Texturing". It covers a wide range of materials, concrete, metal, cloth, wood, etc. That would help you a lot.
Sega seems as tho' they maybe back on form...maybe not with the Sonic (debatable) but I just saw the new GameInformer article on their Next-Gen title: Condemned...looks like it could be quite something special...
All of the source engine games are moddable, though the engine is older so it's probably not the best for current gen normal mapped stuff. I'd say go for crysis. The custom weapon capabilities seem decent.
Still have trouble findign not only odd bands and individuals, but classical music and Opera of all things. Believe it or not some of Gen X and Y still listen to things older than the 20th century!
welcome back wannabe! As it is, your skins rock. I am curious if you could handle that all with next-gen stuff like specmaps and normalmaps. Give it a try and show us. And, start modelling!
a little too pricey for my tastes, its as much as a cintiq... but i have been hearing a lot of buzz about this guy.. http://www.dell.com/content/topics/topic...;l=en&s=gen
Hey, how about posting the URL, FFS? Some really awesome work there. I agree with Doc, it would be great if someone would release a current-gen game that was as friendly as Q3 for importing PPMs.
