Smoothing and normal issues aside that you might encounter in some engines, long thin triangles like the ones depicted in the first view also take a hard toll on your fill rate as they often have quite poor quad efficiency on the gpu. good start! Do you have reference videos of dogs? or even better if you or someone you know have a dog, watch them to get a feel for how they move. Many thanks for the reply Ben, that script looks perfect. Unfortunately I never got into Modo. It's still something I intend to do when I get a chance, regretting not doing it sooner now! The video has given me the better idea though to model the chain as two separate parts rather than both the inner and outer links…
