Awesome texture, the blue is definitely my favorite bit! really cool to see it done and really cool to see it presented like this. The 'useful links' is a great idea that would be a great idea on any finished project thread :D After seeing the photo ref you used, I see the real dark bits on the golden hilt were meant to…
I would suggest you hold off on making portfolio pieces for your first few sculpts and concentrate on learning the tools and how to best make them do what you want. Right now as this stands, it isn't really anything. It appears as though you are just making a head from memory, instead of trying to replicate one that exists…
IR: Video card is the only thing i can say, if you could try it on a different computer with a recent NVidia card, 8600 or better. I've got a request here for a test mesh from anyone that is able. I need an example mesh that shows the error when you mistakenly weld two verts together in UV space that shouldn't be. I'm…
Hey ae, what raw did to the rocks (variation in colour which in turn creates the illusion of various edges) I really like, and i think you should try and replicate that. Right now the rocks just seem way to flat (texture wise) and maybe create some circular pieces as well, everything is so straight and monotonous (not the…
thanks for the crits! notman: good point on the grill, just looking at the reference pic it does look alot flatter than what i had modeled out, what do you mean by V windshield? i should probably add a segment or two to the seats, anyone who sat on it would get their eyes poked now that i look at it besides the modeling…
[ QUOTE ] BTW I always use references. And I must say your speal John about VFS is coming off a little "uppitty". Maybe its the way im interpreting it. All I can tell you is I am too much of a perfectionist in my own work, which usually means it takes me 3 times as long. [/ QUOTE ] ah! please don't think that that's what i…
yes that would be post-render process in max aswell. It works really welll with the self-illuminated channel. It could also be a mixture of naughty fall off maps and mental ray operations. Quick googling! This tutorial is for a neon glow, but you can easily replicate that for what youre going for. You could even add a bloom…
Sometimes I darken some parts of the image, bud the other main method I use for bricks is I first make the whole thing seamless, I then find the bricks with to much light source and I then replace those with the dark bricks by using the rectangle marquee tool, so using this tool I individual replace each brick which is not…
I had to replace an Intuos 2 pen once after five years of very heavy use. I think I replaced 1 nib and flipped the plastic sheet once. l still have that tablet, added an Intuos 4 this spring. Never once had an issue with it. Like that it no longer has a loose plastic sheet and, yes, I do use the buttons.
@Ashervisalis Are you talking about substance painter ? If so, just use the "replace" mode And then cycle through Base Color/Height/Normal etc.. and do the same thing to your layer if you want to replace those also. edit : Don't forget to do it on the rust at the top and at the bottom if you are using different layers. And…
