Hey guys, when i render w/ maya software my normals and spec show up, however when i use mental ray, only the diffuse shows through. all maps are targas w/ solid alphas. Any suggestions?
All X-Ray(to some objects, not all) scripts do not work in viewport 2.0 even simple command displaySurface -xRay true; Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Hi, 3ds Max has energy preservation mode in the v-ray shader. RGB and monochrome can be selected. Where is this in Maya? Google searches always bring me to 3ds Max.

The image on the left is the ray miss error i get when i bake a normal map. I have checked the cage it looks like it covers everything completely. Is there something obvious i am missing?

When every I try and key even a single frame on a Mental Ray material in Maya 2012 it turns solid black. All I need is a very simple fade out over a few frames. Does anyone know if I am doing something wrong? Or a good work around?
