@Madeira3d you need some support loops on side and at base to have uniform smoothness and avoid that tension. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVRzkk8x4KY
I'd start with a quadball and play with it. Add some support loops/bevels, no need to be super consistent though since this is just a screw which is small.
Hey everyone, im trying to model a phase 2 clone trooper helmet. Ive gotten the model basically done and now I am adding edge loops to the model so that I can subdivide it up properly. I keep running into the edges that are causing me issues because I need to have multiple edges going into them in order to create a fully…
Ok, I need some help with this puzzle. I'm hoping it's something simple.. Revolver barrel. No nGons. Modo 501. Polygons: SubD with no edges, showing issues better: So as you can see, I'm having problems with these seams... any idea why they are happening / how I can fix them? Also, if I do not bevel the edges that form the…
Yeah, I was gonna say, I'd do this using 2 meshes, there's no need to hack around with complex geometry trying to make it look good, when you could just shove two objects together... Also, to all the people worried about how to terminate edgeloops... a lot of the time I just leave them as unterminated loops - just an edge…
You could just collapse that loop sooner, you have all those ones defining it's shape as it extrudes, cut it into one of those, don't let it go all the way down the cylinder. That's why you're getting the hard seam. EDIT: I think I worded this weird. I can show you if it doesn't make sense. but basically, you want to…
@ Oxynary It's not that difficult. Chamfer some edges, re-route some of the loops, and a dash of pentagon. If you can get away with it, you should consider making it a separate piece. It would be much faster to model and unwrap, and just deal with in general. Hmmm...I probably shouldn't have those narrow loops running…
