It's too perfect in my opinion. What you can do is go to Zbrush and go crazy on it. Destroy some edges, add some scratches. This shield is obviously old and has been into battle several times. Add a leather strap as well, it is on the concept.
I am going to sound like a real old head for saying this but...... Makai Kingdom, or anything from the mario rpg series Such games gave me the message "No idea is too outlandish; if you can imagine it, put it to paper/model/paint program.
This is too cool! I'm finding a bunch of old stuff right now. The first thing I ever modelled and textured completely: And while it wasn't my very first texture ever, it was one of the very first. (I remember being so proud of this):
hmm, when I got my new job, new car, and new condo, I warned my old lady that there was a chance I would be getting a new girl too. She really appreciated that, I'm sure you can imagine.
I liked the old demo a lot more than the new demo, sadly. This one reminds me of Red Faction 2. Tiny maps and simple gameplay built around a gimmick. Similar art/level design, too, now that I think of it...
Yeah, there were some awesome entries. Love the "Heroic" one. Some of the categories are fucking hilarious, too: "Most Convincing Argument for Learning How to Contract by One Pixel in Photoshop" "Best Poster Evidently Scanned From a 14-Year-Old's Binder"
i have tonns of screenshots from dear old mass effect 1 too, but i haven't uploaded them anywhere yet. i don't have much me2 shots because let's just forget about that mistake from bioware
You can do this with the old bevel tools IIRC, I haven't been a Maya user for very long and it's something I've wanted to know for a while too. Couldn't find anything in documentation regarding quick switching in the IVE, hoping there'll be an update with it.
Is your max version 32 bit? Ther's a certain point where scenes get too complex for that because you run out of memory. One thing you can try is make a new file and import from your old file.
The tires are too clean. Whats the background of the object, is it an old car that just broke down or has it been sitting in the same place for a long time? The plastic almost looks new. bottoms of doors and the rim around wheel well tend to rust first
