Hello! Im working on an indie project making characters. We want to have player characters equip armor. Im wondering what I need to do on my end for things to work smooth since this is all new to me and Im not terribly techy. How have other games done it? Right now my plan is to break the nude player character mesh into…
Bought this portable solution on sale three months ago, around $230AUD off RRP (Australian dollars) totaling $1,880 spent purchasing it which I think is equivalent to $1400USD thereabouts. Although slightly down on RAM but atm does what I need it todo with the software I've currently installed i.e. SPainter, MTB4, Blender…
Thanks @Obscura I am checking these out now. Seems like enough that I can work with. One thing that was nice about vegstudio is you can draw out a polygon that snaps to terrain and use this as a biome boundary. Looks like I can acccomplish same thing with the volumes just by duplicating and shuffling them around. I wonder…
Keep an eye out for sales on the stand alone version starting tomorrow - Black Friday. There are no differences in functionality between the Steam version and the stand alone version. The only differences are DRM, Steam uses the Steam API to log in and verify your licenses, while the stand alone version uses your Marmoset…
I just wet my pants with excitement. If 4A can take the Metro engine and open it up with an SDK, they may seriously have a bantamweight UDK or Crytek competitor on their hands. Metro 2033 was BEAUTIFUL, not just the lighting but the shader work was magnificent. I did that once too, and the mil-grade vs dirty-grade swap…
@pior That's a good suggestion that gives me some ideas for a weird thing going on in my install. Adding Bonus Tools to that shot in the dark. Brian, you say you reinstalled, but did you run on a totally fresh user folder with no custom stuff? I'm not familiar with how the CryMayaTools works installwise. Also have you…
Hello Everyone, been slowly working on this in my off time. Here is what I have so far. I will be using Unity as my main renderer. First pass A few tweaks here and there, playing with some lighting, materials and post processing . Playing with the holographic display shader using amplify. Not sure if I should post gifs…
Oh man do I agree with this. It definitely feels like a waste of time with developing your art if the stuff you work on during the day isn't what you most enjoy doing. Thats definitely something to keep in mind Javcop, but it sounds more like you've been swayed to EA anyway ;) One thing to keep in mind though is the…
Hey thanks again for the quick response DWalker, are you making reference to the skin detail or the shape of the eye? I intend to shape the on my sculpt a bit more before i add scales to that section. Heres another update of where i'm up to with the detailing, i swapped from adding scales with clay tubes to instead cutting…
I imagine it's a memory problem. 1.5GB is only enough for simple scenes. If you can swap to a better video card that would be a good idea. You can try reducing the size of your textures as well, that should help. Going from 4096x4096x to 2048x2048 for instance will mean 1/4th the memory use. Try using as few lights as…
