Just a thought, but if you think that you're not going to be able to finish the scene as originally intended you could always take what you have now and re-arrange it for a scene with a smaller scope. :)
I am not intending doing anything commercial , nor do I plan distributing it with Textools. People will have to download it themselves and point towards the exe - thats at least my plan with textools.
Is he intended to have a nose and mouth under the mask? If so, it should come forward a lot more. Also, the head should go back a little more. I did a quick paintover:
Sorry for the late responce, but yes I have two shaders, one with and one without Pixel Depth Offset. Dosn't seem like either of them work as intended though, at least not with the blue channel. I'll keep looking into it, for now the red channel seems to work for some reason. I'm assuming since your test was also using…

Sounds like your brief is intended I assume eventually for mobile release, due to the low vertex count? Anyway since the're just static props, as mentioned above I'd agree that in this instance simplicity is key.
Wood texture is awesomely styled. I actually like the squareness of everything, kinda makes it looks like everything is made from folded card. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the scene, if you intend to make one that is.
