Still too much just random rust & grunge. The design doesn't make any sense. You've got these angled lines in some parts...and then a square boxy riveted on panel? That looks like its from 1942 on a supposedly futuristic hand-scanner panel. If its meant to read my palm, why is there a screen at knee/groin level saying…
Agreed that cryo chamber is really good work, I'm keen to see what else you can come up with :) The first two screens are very similar, maybe the closer one could be taken from the right side just to make them feel different. I'm not a fan of lightbox. At my screen res it took a while to find the close button and hit back…
I hate to resurect an old thread but i ran into these problems recently too. Just installed Win 7 and thanks to this thread i fixed most of my problems. I am still running into 2 pretty nasty issues though. 1.) every time i open photoshop it changes the mapping of my tablet to only cover about 2/3 of the screen. needless…
A#1: It is better than Bamboo wacom according to many people who use it here. But in my honest opinion if you are to buy an expensive wacom than bamboo. Learn how to draw on it at first while you save like 1400$s approx to buy a good one with the screen and be done with once and for all. Than again this should be the long…
ugg... not this crap again. I see he hasn't lost his voice after being punched in the throat, repeatedly. Why is it that all of your demo's look like garbage? "If you let us vomit unlimited point cloud data onto your screen you can see that we not only induce vomiting but all of our screen shots look like those bazzar 3D…
I'm using a Radeon 9800 XT I have 3 display problems while using Maya 7 in high quality rendering display: 1. I get yellow blocks on the screen which I definatly know this is from over heating now. It doesn't occur that much now since I vacuumed it. 2. Sometimes Maya doesn't display the normals properly. It just looks…
I'm happy with my 15" i5 Powerbook. It's nice too look at, pretty well built, and decently powerful. It's not a hardcore gaming laptop or powerhouse 3D machine though. However it got a very good power vs. portability (i.e. you don't need 20 sherpas and a dog-sled to carry it) ratio. Battery life is also great for a machine…
starfield= point of emphasis...come on now you dont like the moon sized stars.! I suppose I should have thrown more shots without lighting then anything. I more or less was messing around with lights when I took these screens, not saying I dont agree with your all comments. For crit purpose I think lighting "rigs" is…
Ha, yeah, that's annoying - it likes to create the sub-menus about 10 pixels away from the main menu, so when you move the mouse from the initial menu to a sub-menu, you move over the viewport and the menus disappear... You can get round this by right-clicking nearer the top of the screen - it seems to create the menus…
The Max viewport will support just about anything you can do in HLSL - so yes - you can do gloss maps no problem - you just have to have an FX file that supports it. Gloss maps are very simple. Just as an example of how powerful shaders are in the Max viewport, here's a screen shot of a fire shader I created with the new…
