Hehe yeah, there's nothing actually sad about the "and then you die" bit. It's kinda funny to think that whoever made that edit probably intended it as a snarky clever spin, while it is just the way things are.
At the moment it kind of reminds of Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs. Not sure if that was the intended feel you were going before regardless, you've executed the scene really quite well! Looking forward to the finished product. :)
@Topier Thanks man, yeah everything is high poly modeled, no normal maps used, and for the textures they are just basic materials from keyshot and v-ray, it was never intended for baking or texturing. Thanks.
The main thing I'm seeing is that your normals are extremely harsh. and on that gun, you have some warping in your uvs, or atleast it looks like it is warping, i don't know if thats intended or not.
Unfortunately it desperately does. I will probably have to cancel this one, as 2 people is not enough for what I originally intended. I do like the idea though, perhaps it will resurface into an actual environment.
Day 3, done with torso blockout and now starting on plate build-up and general refinements of shape. shoulders and neck are set up mostly as intended, will probably go over them later in.
When I read something like this, I ask myself... "Why for this political corrective attitude?" There is nothing wrong with experimentation, and if it proves successful for the purposes it was intended for. Then all more gravy to the mash potatoes.:)
jjsuperspy: Cheers :) You can see the blocked in trains on the left. I fully intend to add them just like in the concept, I am just working on other stuff right now.
Swizzle: For that you might actually be better off using the Healing Tool for its intended purpose! That way it'll retain the surface texture to some extent, which is what's so nice about it.
Especially when you state in your original post that its intended to be a portfolio piece. Portfolio should hold your best work - not the work which you decided to not go the extra mile on.
