Completely agree. Totally redundant. Who cares if you model a women with a distended stomach?? As long as you're not putting her in an FPS and using her for target practice I can't see why anyone would care. Hah that's hilarious, have you got pics?
http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1875230&postcount=29 I had to re-do mine :P but then again the project called for accuracy (mine was originally for project reality 2). Obviously it doesn't really matter unless your target audience are gun experts...
+1 to looking like a good start man! I am really interested to see how you go about the terrain with WM and material creation etc. I also think it is a great idea to target a company and show them you can replicate their styles.
Generally there's nothing wrong with having ngons on a flat surface like you have, but if you need a specific triangulation/topology for your surface then doing it by hand is ofc required. Test in your target rendered to see if you get any shading errors if not it's good to go.
hmm I seem to be turning in to the lod master:) yeah best way is to use collapse edge and also target weld with preserve uv's turned on. so yeah select a ring and collapse edge or select a loop and remove edge with ctrl , then you lose the verts as well.
[ QUOTE ] Im getting a 404 on your images. Sir. [/ QUOTE ] Ah, sorry about that. That was probably when I moved the pictures from the gallery folder to the movies concept folder on the site. Here's the virus. Couple of Morph Targets. Antibody cop with tendrils for moustache and limbs
@Japhir - magic of google's algorithm at work. It's more relevant than the Public Service ads because it is actually targeting something relevant to your location. They only have so many game related ad providers so at some point they go for the easy local sell.
Right, so you only use the highpoly as a target for the normal map and AO baking? I think that makes sense to me (because I hate having to fiddle with UV's too much anyway). I'll have a look at the highpoly threads again. Thanks all.
Haven't posted something in a while so here's a warm up sculpt. took me about 7-10 mins on a plane. I was intending to use it for vector displacement map practice but I forgot to stop the MP target beforehand so......yea....... Nyhooo xD
60fps seems like a high target, but the map --being all corridors, corners, and large open areas-- seems like a good candidate. if this were source i'd say hint brushes, area portals, and visibility optimization ad infinitum like a broken record player.
