The easiest and fastest way to do this is to unwrap an element which is duplicated (like the columns, this part with a cylinder etc) and when it's unwraped, you duplicate this element (like that you'll automaticaly have your UVs overlaped). drawing polys on your own hand is a amazing way of learing and by doing that a couple of times you'll learn alot more than following a "time lapse" of modeling a hand(atleast at your skill level i belive).
