assuming you use max, select "elements" and delete the proper ones ? or the cut and merge is not result of a internal copy, but the consequence of max's illogic behavior (see the Lightwave > 3dsmax 9 thread)
There is no way to do this currently, but editing properties for multiple selected items is something we would like to add in the future. For the short term, it would probably be best to merge as many of these objects in Maya as you can and export a new file.
So here I have an update. Better Marc Ruffalo's hulk likeness I think... I'll keep working on the high just a little more for microdetails and changing some parts like triceps... Crits and Comments appreciated :)
So, here is first demos. Placing kitbash piece on curved surface, transforming and merging. Pay attention to properties panel(Face groups and Mesh states lists). Demo1 https://youtu.be/j4K-wCUb2sQ Demo2 https://youtu.be/3-nMtiMALM0
You could merge a lot of your meshes like the clothes or the facial details. Or you just create lods for all the different parts. But performance wise that wouldn´t be efficient since there would be a lot of drawcalls for the different objects.
I've continued tweaking based on your feedback @carvuliero. At this point I'll leave the head for the moment, merge the body together, then go over the character making him less muscular and more physically unified. Thanks for the encouragement @kreativbloc.
Can you post your high Rez mesh please? Right now it looks very flat. Almost like the Normal Map isn't doing anything. (BTW you really should merge both threads together).
Depend of your poly budget, level of detail etc... ofc if you merge it it'll looks like better but sometime it's enought just to leave it like that, and you should delete every face you don't see, gl !
Burn and Dodge. Press the merge verts hotkey in Maya before remembering to save. Roll the crash dice! Collect 1000's of photoshop and ZBrush brushes/textures/materials only to find the defaults works just fine :P
Ok, we have a couple of names for towns for our first map: Anglais-Bocage (village CP close to allied base) Saint-Mere-Allemand (village CP close to german base) Nullepartville (third village CP)
