Guys, turn out the problem was the user not the tool! I didn't knew but the tool was created in a way that it needs you to select the edges on the loop to be able to drive the smoothing groups. Meaning in 1 quad I would have to select the 4 edges. Yeah..that's a feature ! So basically we just need to select the edges.… -

EdgeSmooth is a separate tool, it doesn't require TexTools at all. Both are Maxscripts for 3ds Max, not Mel scripts for Maya. I want a tool that will change all my UV border edges into hard edges. If you select a curve then select your face to extrude, it should follow the path. Add divisions to your extrusion for it to conform to the path. Sounds like you may want to use a tiling texture, but I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish. Try doing this, 1. Select all faces, in the UV editor Unitize the faces (this will draw all face exactly to 0-1) 2. Select all edges, deselect the edges you want to be a seam. 3. Move and sew all the edges you have… -

I've fixed up that bug. Turns out the user value for the path to IPackThat had been set up, but not filled. It will now check if the path is valid when it runs and ask you to re-select the .exe if it's no longer there. Just redownload from here and overwrite the IPackThat.py file with the new one :) EDIT: Updated again… -

The way I would do things is in UVunwrap edit mode to simply select everything in face mode and apply a planar map. Then with the whole selection apply some relaxing (so they are relaxed but still connected). After that just select edges and then hit CTRL+B to break them there. Don't get what I am doing wrong, everything is static, selected cup with table and cloth on it, rendered, saved as .exr, then inverted selection and rendered the rest of selected models. Then opened two .exr files in Photoshop and copy pasted one into another file but layers does not match… -

thanks, malcolm :) there shouldn't be an issue with the scene size. Basically it just stores a list of all the selected components for each component type. So with large amounts of components it's remembering, the scene size might get slightly larger. But you can clean it all up with the 'cleanup' option in the menu. there…
