LRoy thanks! About 20 subtools for the gun, some of them have been merged. The shoes and trousers were retopoed in 3dsmax using the concept zbrush meshes. The gun is all zbrush.
Just so you know, they recommend not loading up the startup folders as it may impact performance. They suggest keeping the numbers under 20, and putting the rest into the other folders (Lightbox) instead.
update...20 hours more geometry detail on the gun, about ready to move into mudbox for weathering details. would it be useful to model the wood grain for normal mapping, or is there a more efficient approach?
I give Heavenly Sword about a 7/10. Not the greatest thing in the world, but definitely some sequences and art worth checking out. Combat is decent, not great. Definitely worth $20.
first draft of the dissertation is done https://rapidshare.com/#!download|432p5|3330777125|Specialisation_Dissertation_Chris-Redshaw_080186%20.pdf|786|0|0 to download. EDIT: changed the link as the previous appeared not to be working.

yup nice drawing, you could squeeze out another 20-60 tris by removing some of the symmetry generated edges at the center especially inside the wheels. Don't waste the triangles ;)
Just to give a little more info, the animation is in Max and it's just a basic 20 frame cycle of the wings flapping. I plan to animate the actual movement of the butterflies using Matinee in UDK.
More thickness still. Make it 20% thicker than what you think is extreme. You want exaggeration of stuff so your details don't get lost after the bake.
