It should also be mentioned that while, when using segmented models the overall "polygon count" will go down, your actual vertice count will be higher than with a single mesh
be aware that vertex-count will be higher, due to the fact that when you have vertex-color,smoothing group or UVmap splits along edges, those vertices need to be duplicated.
That seems rather like tellin an inquisitive kid not to go commiting suicide then sporadically telling them to cut vertically through the arteries. Though perhaps not quite as extreme.. maybe.
i believe he was referring specifically to the strip of polies between the legs... having the legs share the same vertices at the crotch will create horrible stretching when you animate.
It's much faster and directly on the normal map -- instead of sending the information into 'micro-vertices'. On a low res map you see far more of what you're going to get.
Awesome Daz! that nazi looks so real @Slum: This business card cdr won't work on some cd/dvds unfortunately, especially vertical ones and pioneer drives.
I'm using Zbrush just as I use it on my PC but on my Laptop it collapses the whole mesh into about 1 or 3 vertices. Ive checked in preferences and there all maxed.
Hey - Just working on a bit of a side project when I get the time at home. Need opinions on a set of thumbs I knocked up this evening. Going for a vertical profile - these thumbs are done as if looking head-on. Favourites? Cheers.
I used Blender and Substance Painter. vertices 3.6K (i made it high because i was interested in the quality) 2K maps normal.albedo.metallic.roughness and ambient occlusion check it out in Artstation for marmoset viewer https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Pg1m8
