sculpted a sketch of the clothes, added some polypaint to get a bit of a feeling of what it could be. i'm not sure about the shapes of the clothes just yet, and i feel like it just needs a little more refining. which is what i'll do next! but so far, pretty happy with how this is turning out :)
Polypaint and texture maps are two different things. If you want to paint directly on the map you should be using Polypaint, and only use the Texture Map sub-pallet when you're ready to convert it. When Polypaint is turned off, the tool will use the currently selected color and material (which makes it a quick way to…
im having weird problem when using xnormals. i've done some polypaint in zbrush so i wanted to use the polypaint and bake it into a lower poly object. though the thing is the low poly is one entire mesh and the polypainted objects are 2 subtools in zbrush. i use PUV tiles, and export the 2 subtools with their texture from…
decimating will kill polypaint. Anything that messes with or changes the polygons will have some sort of impact on any polypaint. polypaint to texture/multimap exporter: make sure you have some UVs, If there are issues, I usually check for and then collapse any layers as they can have some interesting interactions with…
I have a question on 3d painting...like bodypaint... Do you need your models to be subdivided pretty high in order to paint them? Like zbrush's polypaint? Or can you take a lowpoly and paint on that?
Yeah, I believe the Polypaint icon is toggled off. I'm always finding myself turning it off when it keeps turning on. However, if you FillObject both, even if no material or RGB is set, they'll both wind up with that same highlight. :) So both will need the Polypaint icon on.
If you're looking to get into animation then there is no point getting Modo instead of Maya. Modo is primarily a model/texture/render tool, it barely supports animation at all, let alone complex deforming animation. I dunno if it's worth switching to Max if you're already comfortable with Maya. Providing you're happy with…
If it helps clarify things: Filling with flat color will remove the material information from polypaint, but in this case it isn't the material that is the problem. This is 'Inactive Subtool Dimming', which dims unselected subtools (the strength at which it does so can be changed in the preferences). Polypaint however…
Trying to learn new features of Zbrush 4R6 and having lots of issues. Following some Zbrush tutorials, yet I get lost in the middle. My question 1. I made a Multi Insert Brush, including 8 types of polypainted bricks as below. But When I use the Brush, the polypaint is lost, What should I do to preserve the polypaint. 2.…
When you use the decimation master there are options for retaining polypaint. So you can set-up your UVs, polypaint, decimate, then copy your polypaint to UVs, export everything into Max and then bake. http://www.pixologic.es/downloads/files/pluginz4r3/Decimation_Master_Documentation.pdf I can't quite remember how the UVs…
