https://developer.blender.org/D6322 This makes me very, very happy. Easily one of my top 2 frusrations with Blender atm for modeling. I still have no idea how to get this into my Blender but I will find out how.
the only problem i have with the blender uv editor is a) re-unwraping only parts of your mesh b) unwraping anything with bevels, divets or overhangs tends to get really messy for everything else blender uv editor + textools will do
Great videos bro. Really cool that it delves into the differences between Max and Blender considering how vastly different they are. I couldn't even work out how to rotate the camera in Blender on my own the first time around :D
Saw this "Clone to Quad" plugin in another thread and I was wondering if anything like it exists for Blender: https://vimeo.com/166291982 Seems to function similar to ZBrush's NanoMesh except without scatter options. Anyone know of a way to do this in Blender?
not a blender expert yet ;) but that sounds more like a filemanager problem. offline network drive in the bookmarks causing a timeout or similar issue. does it happen when you relocate the entire prefs folder and have blender recreate a fresh one?
my guess is, that blender will still have the old keymap available and yes, i like blenders keymap more than any maya/max defaults, but i guess thats just dependant on which software you learned first

I know it probably has something to do with the licensing issues (like almost everything else in Blender) but I vaguely remember a developer talk about the advantages of multilayered EXR over the PSD…
I use the Maya 2 blender configuration and keyset which makes it a lot more usable in my opinion. I have to agree though, Blender just isnt there for it to replace better modeling tools. In fact, one of the best modeling tools on the market is free and open source... and its not Blender. Wings 3D is perhaps one of the best…
I'm using it as a portable install where all configs are part of the blender program folder (e.g. blender-2.82-windows64\2.82\config). So in my case I just run it from an usb stick. When upgrading to a new version I copy the content of the 'config' folder from there to a new install. Installed addons (which don't come…
Hey guys, I haven't dared to test Blender 2.8 from the "Bleeding Edge" daily builds, because of the unstableness, but I'm wondering is Eevee engine's viewport rendering good for previewing the transparency of haircards when adjusting them? Because normally the alpha is quite buggy in Blender's original Blender Render…
