Does anyone know an easy way to see in what collections selected objects are ? Like it was in old Blender? I bought that 3 bucks addon form blender market but it somehow cryptic and doesn't help at all
on object creation, go under surfaces and create nurbs surfaces, or nurbs curve and connect them alt + c -> mesh from curve this way you can also apply all modifiers on multiple meshes
Does anyone know if it is possible to make a clipping border out of a lasso selection? Box is nice but not adequate for all situations. Also is it possible to hold a hotkey to snap to ortho views while orbiting like in ZBrush?
Hi. See if this works: select_all_sharp.py It can be installed like a third-party addon through User Preferences. It should add a "Select All Sharp" menu item to the (edit mode) Select menu and to the Edges menu.
hehe yeah almost, sadly but also luckily. it's not that much that is missing. we will slowly port our production over. If all goes well we will use max and maya only for final deliveries at one point.
I have imported a FBX file into Blender (exported from Maya). All objects in the scene are parented to a null object (locator, empty object), the null is rotated 90 degrees in X and scaled down to a factor of 0.02 (probably to compensate the fact that in Maya Y is up, and in Blender Z is up). I'd like to unparent all the…
@ScottHoneycutt The X scale is set to 1 but the Y and Z scales are set to 5.264 so the objects don't have a uniform scale. Try changing the X scale to 5.264 or the Y and Z scales to 1.00 and that should resolve the scaling issues. (The transform tab works with copy paste if you have to make a lot of changes and there are…
As MACHIN3 already said, it's now on the RMB menu (also available in the Search menu, you can find it by the name "Set Origin"), you can add all the functions you like to the Quick Favorites menu (Q).
Here is a video on switching to Blender from other software that might be helpful for some. They use a lot of the hotkeys, but almost all the common functionality is in the right-click context menus too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aAg6X0bDd0
How smooth is animation workflow compared to maya? I've played with the windows, tabs and all but I was wondering if we could set up animation layers, selection sets for curves, curves selection windows and character sets?
