I have a technical question about creating textures for my Dota2 item. This is the first time I've ever created an item for dota 2 and I was wondering about the texture size requirements. I'm making a saddle for Alchemist and on the hero resources it says that the saddle texture can only be 256x256 but the saddle texture…
Thanks, but it's not working...Opened beta tools: had to create 'add on' (called 'Addthis') Open model viewer and it says open existing VMDL (I don't have any Vmdl's) or load a new one. (from smd, fbx) I go to file and it says it's not in folder. In the Addon's directory I added a models folder. Now when I try to open the…
@Clyptic & SeeingTriangles: thx you guys so friendly :D @SeeingTriangles: i just create the LOD1 first because i think will be easier if i created LOD1 then smooth them by adding tris. I think you need to activate this , check what options original textures have and : Please note that Dota 2 does not support double-sided materials; you will need to create geometry where a backside is needed. :( written here : http://www.dota2.com/workshop/requirements
First things i check when something like that happens are... Check the Pivot, and eventually align it to the original object Check that you have done a Reset Xform (if you use 3dsmax). As a last resort, create a new scene, and expor the files from there...for my PL spear it worked.
Can anybody help me, sorry the amount of places to check is overwhelming and i cant find a specific tutorial for the steps on creating a courier. Mainly the animation, rigging, and export parts. People talk about a Valve doc listing all the anims required but I cant find it :S
Quick question for a DotA creating noob. Is the portrait the absolute only place LoD0 is used for? I might need some extra detail in some places for the portrait view and was thinking of stealing some detail out of the back corner of the head that doesn't get seen during the head turns.
i can't work out how to prepare the bones/animations/dummies for the Witch doctor's death ward. I wanted to create a classic big boiling pot for him but for the past few days I'm stuck with all particles starting in the 0,0,0 point Can anybody help please?
I was asking if some1 can submit a hero themed ward, and the Valve would accept that? Do they accept them right now,or are those users just creating wards and hoping Valve will make an exception and accept them? I cant find the official category for those wards to be submitted to.
Interesting way of creating the midriff by combining the skin with the top. Totally digging that hair style. Personally I would suggest more organic materials overlaying the outfit, it feels bare at the moment. E.G. Some big ribbons loosely tied from the belt area and flow around the skirt.
