UDK has one UU = 1cm by default (this is documented). As for other applications and this shader, I couldn't say.

I was able to resolve this by installing Quixel Suite in the default install directory. Thank you for your help!

It's probably possible in Unity with scripting, if you roll your own lightmapping algorithm. It's not in there as a default option, however.

That didn't work because I assume its a problem with the geometry. The texture works fine on the default object :(

Not sure if this would fix it or not...but try adding your own lights instead of just using the default lighting.
