Got an answer on the www.xsibase.com rendering forum from a xsi developer. Seems I have to wait for a patch: "The problem is that DirectX9 and below don't really support off-screen buffers in any usable fashion. We've been working on a fix for that but it didn't make it in time for the XSI 6.0 release."… -

yeah I've tried the fix seams button and it doesnt make any difference unfotuanately... thanks for your help though Im wondering if this could have been because of mirroring the geometry before taking it into ZBRUSH although the actual geometry is fine and its only the bump which shows the errors. Yeah a 10k RPM drive will definately be good for performance(loading programs, loading/saving files). As far as the video card, i think you will see pretty similar performance in 3d work, and either of those cards will be good gaming. I wouldn't buy a high-end 3d card from some place like dell, because you'll probabbly pay… -
