Please for the love of god DO NOT ADD TAPE!!! You have a decent design and the start of a decent diffuse texture, don't screw it all up with any of those lazy cliches. There are a few key issues with your texture right now. The main thing is the material definition. Your materials are all the same tone and glossiness. It…
I really don't believe this is the case here. While the US might have been able to rig coups in the past, it doesn't mean that they are behind every coup since then. In fact, to think that they would be capable of doing so gives the US government far too much credit in the light of their recent failures. I've been…
This is sort of wierd, but I am rendering some UI elements and I need to render out an object in mental ray with a nice shader and lighting setup and then also render out a normal map of that object. The problem is I have to bake the normal map and ao to a texture, and render the Mental Ray Color pass from a scene. Which…
UV Mapped everything and got to texturing! Texturing her skin went a little faster since I just made a previous project's skin folder into a smart material that I then edited to fit Ciri's UVs. I'm also trying out some more interesting colors in marmoset than just light yellow and blue, since Cyberpunk is supposed to be…
Okey so half of the week already passed. Finished the decals, adjusted materials, and lighting theoretically finished. Now I am playing with the Post process volume, and I would only have to adjust some prop and uvs that I have wrong, and prepare cameras to render and finish. I would like you to help me with 2 problems.…
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the biggest learning curve for me was that there are two ways to do PBR. Just remember these key difference: Metalness: it controls how much something reflects. So the difference between a chrome ball and a rubber ball. Obviously a chrome ball is very mirror like, right? Roughness: It…
If it were only that simple. You see the IR sensor they use is in the photo chip of your camera. The only way to block the IR is to get an IR filter or cover you camera, thus losing your ability to use it. An IR filter might work, but you have to be sure you get the right one so you filter the right light waves.
Previous & Table of Contents This setup tints the specularity looking straight on and leaves it achromatic at the edges, which is accurate. How about a rough plastic now? At a first glance, this might look OK to some of you, but it's actually got too much specularity around the edges. If you observe some real-world rough…
Attempted to make this tiled floor with my new layered material. It's not too bad I think but I will be recruiting some adobe substance sampler help to get a closer match It's been a good opportunity to test all of the parameters and controls anyway, I've added quite a lot of new features, although the one i really want is…
A little bit more progress. I set up the other materials and added a few things. Ignore the horrible lighting. Not sure why I'm getting a bunch of weird shadows. I'm not really set on what type of lighting I want anyway. I also did a quick paintover for some ideas I had. I really liked the ambient light in MW3's…
