This is my first handpainted file, a wooden shield. It took me lot of hours because it has been the first time I have drawn in Photoshop. It would be great getting some comments about what you like and what you think I should improve. Thanks!
Hello there! I am creating an environment with some handpainted textures, and what i want to know is how I could make it look prettier and hopefully put it in my portfolio one day. Great start for handpainting! Seem to have a bit of an uncanny valley thing going on with the realistic texturing and anime proportions. Those don't look handpainted - especially the cloth. They look like you ran them through filters. Not sure about the bark, it just doesn't look like bark. Why not try a handpainted texture from scratch? It'll take time, but it'll look more convincing!
