i've used polyboost to paint seams out in my diffuse...never tried doing it w/spec tho. maybe worth a try. -

Hmm - would'nt a "UVW Xform" modifier do the trick ? Setting U/V/W tiling values to 0.125 ( = 1/8 ) would scale the UV coords to 800 % ... -
