:D I just got used to Maya's quirks with regards to modeling. The way I work with it is that I remove the whole interface and use the Marquee menus, I've memorized the placement of every tool I use, so it's super fast to select split polygon tool for example. I need to customize my Max to do basically that :D
I don't know which version of Max you are using, or what Modo navigation entails. If you are using Max 2013 you may be able to use the Customize User Interface > Mouse options to adapt the navigation. http://docs.autodesk.com/3DSMAX/15/ENU/MAXScript-Help/files/GUID-724B14D0-06DC-424A-A6FE-8C494579ECA3.htm
Haha very nice. Yeah I tried on my iPad and was kinda disappointed it didn't go to a native res... wasn't really expecting it to though lol. Someone needs to really get on the case and build something with a nice interface, local storage and shader support. Can the iphone even render spec / proper alpha maps? I'm guessing…
The Pilgrimage continues! Episode 24 - Learning ZBrush - Intro is now live! Check it out @ the Polygon Pilgrimage Greetings Pilgrims! In this episode of the Polygon Pilgrimage we take our first look into the power house that is ZBrush. Join me as we go over the interface, navigation, and the basics to getting started with…
Fantastic feel and individual assets! It definitely feels like blade runner, though I feel some "newer" cyberpunk elements would definitely make this environment stand out. I'd be way too tempted to add tons of cables Neuromancer-style interfaces all over the place. It'd would for a wonderful clashing of futuristic…
The Stalin sculpt is fantastic comrade! Do you have alot of experience with the other sculpting programs besides sculptris? I've only ever used Zbrush... Zbrush is powerful, but the interface and the workflow is really awkward at times... PS its clear you have a good understanding of anatomy and that you practice some type…
Having the right tools for the job can speed things up considerably. When ZBrush first came out I was hesitant to use it because of all the bad things I heard about it's interface. But After seeing amazing work coming out if it I decided to give it a try. It really sped up my workflow and I fell in love.
[ QUOTE ] ...As it stands, you need to go intot he options (F12) and select the option... [/ QUOTE ] ah, finally i found it. it's under options->interface->windows and then there is the checkbox. this really helps, as setting up planes is often just two many extra steps for quick previewing of different reference pics. and…
So the internets have lied to me? I was really, really excited about Modo, and to this day i thought i was missing out on some awesome tools mostly because i hated the controls and interface. But so i would've been missing out regardless? Is the painting really that bad? The videos made it seem pretty easy, really.
Honestly, Maya has barely changed since 2008, so it's not really a question of whether it's still relevant. The biggest difference is that 2011's interface looks fairly different, but that's about it. The biggest differences are that somethings are moved around but if you use Maya's help file (which is really good), then…
