You can change the player size. Open up the player blueprint, select the capsule component, and change its half height and radius. You can also adjust the camera height relative to the capsule.
That would be a cool way to do team colors in some sort of multiplayer game. It would give the player a rough idea of who's who, but wouldn't overpower the players with color. Looks interesting none the less :)

Quick-time events. Using a compass or directional navigation pointers when the landscape is designed to stop players from walking straight there. Giving players a lot of loot but poor ways to manage it. Dialog options that are just 3 different ways of saying yes.
Looks to me like it's simply got a set angle from the player, in world space, and there's a raycast being sent backwards from the player to the world along that vector. If it collides, then the camera snaps to the collision point. If it doesn't, then it snaps to a standard distance along that vector.
