Hmm that error suggests that the UI is trying to select a file format from a list that is out of range (ie: select item 14 from a list of 10 items). When you are working with games all your polys are going to be converted into tris, no matter how hard you try. This usually happends when you export your model into the game engine, or you can do a simple triangulation manually. When you look at polycounts, always look for tri count.
