Ive always hated these keys , for years i used a 15 year old AT connection keyboard with a ps2 adaptor , until i spilt beer in it. then i started using those REG key things on the new keyboards ... allthough , when you next reinstall windows you wont be albe to find that reg anywhere
I live in the bay area, and I bike to work everyday. my commute is 12-15 mins each way. I have a geat place to live for 700$ a month which I share with 3 other people. If you are motivated to find a solution you can live and work anywhere with compromises. -R
2013 is pretty old. Why are you using that version? Mentalray Arch & Design material might be the best one to use, not sure. But it has anisotropy and fresnel. http://docs.autodesk.com/3DSMAX/15/ENU/3ds-Max-Help/index.html?url=files/GUID-6F13FC90-80A4-4092-BB5F-662546685C2B.htm,topicNumber=d30e375010
I'm trying to recall the first time I saw Pior post on Polycount, sometime in the early 2000's, I think? He was awesome then and has accrued 15 years of more awesomeness under his belt. No offense to everyone else but I'd put a lot more weight on Pior's advice.
2/. Ocean Shader. The big deal is the waves. I tried to achieve it with dynamic tessellation, but it squeezed my PC so badly. World position offset is not so bad for this situation. [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3gyQPKCJJg"]UDK 201305-15 04-35-43-20 - YouTube[/ame]
always patching that 15 year old software ;) I really hope they make some progress on their XBR stuff because max is aging very fast and almost getting to old. I know that they improved some stuff in regards of UV in 2012 but I think this was not part of it (haven't checked it yet out).
Yes, I ended up calling my provider. They helped it by I guess makign it so people disconnect after 15 secoonds or something. So the churn rate is faster. he was like "its a couple of jpgs!" One thing I feel i have to point out. your 512
Have you checked out the Conform compound object? http://docs.autodesk.com/3DSMAX/15/ENU/3ds-Max-Help/index.html?url=files/GUID-5790F099-E538-4702-9831-EC06C0EA2819.htm,topicNumber=d30e46322 IIRC Paul Hormis' script (TiM) did a better job, but it's been a while.
Actually, if you do it properly, each frame wont take much more than 15 minutes. Its the compositing afterwards that makes it looks all sexy. Of course the whole animation might have taken quite some time to render if it was done on a single computer, but again, that is the easy part.. :P
Jordu Schell airbrushes his chavant sculpts. He mentioned he has maquettes sitting around his studio from 15 years ago so the stuff is pretty resilient. You can use turpenoid and alcohol with a cheap ass glue brush from the hardware store to smooth stuff.
