So first time in UDK,with materials and spec in all their glory. Pretty happy with the result I must say. The Pivot and bones needs adjusting, but once that is sorted ill post some action shots.
In addition to using one's imagination to create horror and forcing him/her to relate with what's happening (meaning that the subject facing the horror in the movie or game is an average joe/jane), I think that a solid background story for evertyhing builds the horror up even more. If I made a horror game, I would concept…
I said nothing to the effect of it being Shakespeare. I meant simply that American film studios (and other ventures) change things for no good reason or on the premise that American audiences can't relate to Asian themes/characters. OH NOES WE CAN'T UNDERSTAND FOREIGN! For me the lowest common denominator is the studio…
Is the scale of the model reasonable (ie not really tiny)? are pivots and transforms reset the same? You shouldn't get those artifacts with a cage unless the HP is truely intersecting with it, which you can't see it from those images.
Make sure your low poly and high poly use the same scale and have the same pivot. Also make sure you actually apply different materials on the different material IDs in 3dsmax before exporting.
Cheers heaps for the replies :) So i just went with this..... $Group001.pivot = [0,0,0] only moves the group pos, not the objects inside, so thats what i wanted. I may implement yours though LoTekK :) :)
Check this video: [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmepHy6FT2A"]Skinning and Exporting, 3dsMax to Dota 2. - YouTube[/ame] I had a very similar case and it turned out I accidentaly moved my pivot...
Moving ALL subtools at the same time does not change the pivot. If you know the exact offset, hit transpose master and insert by you offset and use transpose master again to split the model to its original subtools.
No, cant see anything. I can select the objects in the viewport, but just see the pivot. iv tried converting to editable poly. iv tried applying another material to it, same thing. Weird thing is it renders fine...
Transform is "w" silly billy! okay, it's not "x"? well then! Reset Xform? Centered Pivot? 0,0,0? Reopen the Scene? Restart teh Max? Export, Import typically tends to fix weird shit like this. good luck.
